Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt His worth
A thrill of hope
The weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks
A new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees
Oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine
Oh night when Christ was born
Oh night divine, oh night, oh night divine
~ Oh Night Divine
Since yesterday was Christmas I thought I would write about something relating to a Christmas song. This is a song that I really enjoy listening to. The sin is full of sin that each and every person alive commits. The good news is though that Jesus was born so that He could die and take away the punishment that we should receive for the sins we commit. Yesterday we celebrated the day that Jesus was born many years ago. Because of Jesus' birth we have hope that we are forgiven and that we will one day live in heaven with Jesus. Since Jesus was born we can rejoice and know that we have a lot to be thankful for. During Christmas we sometimes forget the real reason why we are celebrating because of the many things that we do with our loved ones. There are also times during the year that I think we often forget about this wonderful gift that we received long before we were born and that is the gift that Christ was born for us. This is the best gift that we could ever have received and ever will receive. God sent His son, Jesus, to be born for us as a Savior.
The morning when Christ was born was a very glorious morning to those who found out the good news. It is still a day that we see as a very glorious morning as we celebrate that day. That night was a night that changed the world forever. On that night our Savior was born and that meant that His life was going to be the example of a life that we should try to follow (even though it isn't possible because we are sinners). It also changed that way that we live because we know that there was a Savior born for us that took away all of our sins so that when our time comes to leave this earth we would enter our Lord's eternal kingdom.
Remember that Jesus is God's greatest gift to each and everyone of us.

God's Unfailing Love
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD, for I hide myself in you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble. In your unfailing love, silence all my enemies; destroy all my foes, for I am your servant." ~ Psalm 143:8-12
I think this is a great verse for us to use as a reminder of a few things. There are often times where we wake up in the morning and we don't want to get out of bed or do anything that day. This verse reminds us that we should remember God's unfailing love for us. When we wake up we should remember that it is a new day and a gift from God. We should trust in Him that whatever the day brings our way is all a part of His plan for us. There are times where we think we know what is best for us and we try to follow a path that we believe is right for us. We need to remember that God is leading us along the path we are walking along. Today in Chapel I heard something very similar to the following quote (I may not have gotten it word for word) by one of our professors here:
Remember that God has unfailing love for you and that He is leading your life according to His plan.

Today in Chapel I heard something very similar to the following quote (I may not have gotten it word for word) by one of our professors here:
"Imagine that you are riding on a bike for two. You are riding on the seat on the back. Jesus is riding on the seat in the front. You are the one that is working to pedal and get where you are going while Jesus is steering the bike. When you come to a fork in the road Jesus takes the path that He knows is where you are supposed to go. Every once in a while He looks back at you with a smile, not to see that you are still there because He knows that you are, but to assure you that you are being led by Him and not on your own and that you are being taken down the right path for you."I thought that was a great way to express how Jesus is leading our lives and how we are being taken down the road to do God's will for us. The verse says, "Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD, for I hide myself in you." In the meaning of the quote this relates because we are in a sense hiding ourselves in God because we are behind Him and He is leading us in the direction He wants us to go. He is rescuing us from our enemies because He is turning down the paths that are where we are supposed to go and that means that He is taking us away from our enemies. God is going to silence our enemies and destroy our foes. We are His servant and are to share the Word with others so that they may know who God is. He has unfailing love for us and does so many wonderful things for us that each morning we should wake up and think about how great His unfailing love for us is and that we are being led by Jesus on the path that God has planned out for us.
Remember that God has unfailing love for you and that He is leading your life according to His plan.

Jesus ALWAYS Remains
Higher than the mountains that I face
Stronger than the power of the grave
Constant in the trial and the change
One thing... Remains
On and on and on and on it goes
It overwhelms and satisfies my soul
And I never, ever, have to be afraid
One thing remains
Your love never fails, never gives up
Never runs out on me
In death and in life I'm confident and
Covered by the power of your great love
My debt is paid there's nothing that can
Separate my heart from your great love

No matter what is going on in life and amidst the many changes and hard things that are happening. Right now there are many things that are going on in this world. Things that are hard for many people and people are struggling with multiple things in their life. We need to remember that even with all those things that are changing that there is one thing that never changes. "One thing remains." With everything that changes in life there is ALWAYS one thing that never has, never does, and never will change. Jesus will ALWAYS remain. He is ALWAYS there for us. He will ALWAYS be there and we don't have to be afraid. Jesus satisfies our soul. We should know that in times of death and in life that we are covered by Jesus' love. He loved us so much that He died on the cross for us so that He could take away our sins. Our debt has already been taken care of us by our Lord, Jesus Christ. He loves us so much and it is because of that love that we can love others. There is nothing that can separate us from from His wonderful love for us.
It is important that we ALWAYS remember that Jesus' love never fails and that He will never give up on us. We may think that His love has failed because things aren't going right for us. Truth is that His love for us NEVER fails. We may think, at times, that we have done too many horrible things that God won't forgive us for. Often times we think that because of all the bad things we have done that He is going to give up on us. Truth is that God will NEVER give up on us. His love will ALWAYS be there for us. It will NEVER run out on any of us! His love is greater than anything else. There are many people who go through tough things and the ones that get through it the easiest are the ones who love God and know that He loves them more than anything. They may struggle with things, but those who remember this can remember how great His wonderful love is for us and that He will ALWAYS love us. Nothing can separate us from the love that God has for us.
Remember that God's love never fails, God's love never gives up, and nothing can separate us from God's love.

Be strong and know that God is with you
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" ~ Joshua 1:9
"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." ~ Philippians 4:13
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." ~ Colossians 3:23
I know that many of my friends are getting ready for finals these next couple weeks. There are also many people who are really busy this time of year getting different things done. So many people tend to be stressed during this time because it seems like there is so much to do that you thought you'd have gotten done already and wouldn't need to crunch so many things into what seems like so little time, but in reality . It is important that we take time to relax and remember that everything will get done and go according to God's will. The three verses above, along with many others, are great reminders for us that we should keep in mind during this time. They shouldn't only be on our minds during this time, but ALWAYS.
The first quote from Joshua tells us that we need to not be afraid, but to be strong and to not be discouraged, but courageous. There may be several things that we need to get done, but we shouldn't get discouraged by that. We should be strong and know that we are going to get everything done. God is with us wherever we go and helps us in everything that we do. With God's help we are able to push through the hard times and can overcome the long list of things that we have to complete. In everything that we do, God is going to give us the strength that we need to complete it. Sometimes it may not seem like it, but those are the times that make us stronger. With God everything is possible and He will help us get everything done. Everything we do, we should work on it to glorify God and not as if we are doing it to glorify man. We should do everything to the glory of God. The things that we do should be for God and we should put our whole heart into it.
Remember that God is always with you and will help you be strong to get things done.
